I grew up in South Africa, shot my first Impala when I was 7 years old and my first gun when I was 12 years old was a 8x57js. I have been shooting and hunting ever since. I had some success with trap shooting and represented SA at the 2004 Grand. Fast forward to 18 years ago when I relocated to The USA. Took me 14 years to become a citizen but am now proud to be called an American. Currently mostly shooting 9mm and 45 ACPfor fun. I cast, powder coat and reload all of my ammo and am having a lot of fun feeding the addiction. Looking forward to be part of this community.

Welcome aboard. My old boss had a BIL that was a ranch foreman in a SA citrus operation. He went to visit and watched them cull out baboons. I see you're in Chino, ever get to Fontana and NASCAR or the Planes of Fame? PAX

Welcome. Fyi if you want a combination gun with shotguns on top and 8x57 (6.5 x 57, 7x57, or 9.3 are more common) on bottom you can get drillings for about $2000. Usually the top 2 barrels are 16 gauge or 12 gauge with bottom barrel 8x57. Should be legal in CA due to break barrel action. Weight is about the same as a standard 12 gauge pump.

Welcome Aboard. Glad you found the forum.

This is the best place to hang out on the internet.

I know that you're not in the Oregon/ Washington area but we've found the best way to meet the community and learn where and how to use public lands responsibly is through grass roots involvement.

If there isn't a local group that advocates for responsible stewardship of public lands, check out Trash No Land.
