It was 42" long and weighed 40lbs. It was a rainy, crappy day on the water because I left my rain suit in the truck and was soaking wet for a good part of 8 hrs. But, finally hooking into that bad boy and getting it into the boat made my whole day!

Nice 'trout'! Looks like lots of fun. Some of the best fishing I've had was in the rain.

Mine wasn't nearly as big.

Got this one in 1985, the day before my 24th birthday, off the Avila Beach pier in California using the brand new 6.5ft Ugly Stick spinning rod and Ryobi reel w/10lb-test line I'd just gotten as a gift.

I was jigging for smelt (not as dirty as it sounds) when I caught him.

31.5" and 15lbs.
