My understanding is that not a single shell casing EVER has been used to solve a crime. Massachusetts got rid of its stockpile of fired shell casings because they found the database was NEVER used to solve a crime. #fakenews

I'm not a hunter, but I'm betting that terminal effectiveness (or non-effectiveness) is the only factor that really matters in the selection of bullets. Sometimes the best bullet turns out to be all-copper. But I doubt there are very many hunters--if any--who eschew lead core bullets because of their concern for poisoning scavengers. O. M. G.
