I do love the Mountain though.
I learned to ski and snowboard on it. Tubing when I was a kid. And thousands of trips across it to travel to Bend.

It's amazing how you take it for granted.
I moved to Kentucky in 2010 for a year then came back.

Of all the things I missed that mountain looming in the background most.
After living here all my life moving to a place that's so flat and lifeless was pure torture.
 
One of my all-time favourite scenic views in Oregon is found by standing on the steps of the Rose Garden, and seeing Mt Hood in the distance over downtown Portland. I must have taken a thousand shots, and never the same twice...but THIS has to be one of my all-time NON-Mt Hood pics....

I was lucky to spend most of my childhood at Mt Hood, family had a cabin in government camp. Season pass at timberline from age 3 until about 16. The trout fishing in the creeks was phenomenal. Going up to Timberline Monday.
