I'm looking to take the girl up camping one night this week. Curious to know if anyone has any suggestions, as well as temperature/snow condition information.
No help from me, but bring a light sleeping bag so you have to cuddle for warmth. If it is during he week, just fins something open part of the adventure!
Joe, if you're looking for a place to go check out Lost Lake, very pretty place! Call the Lost lake Resort & Campground 541-386-6366.
I've been so busy lately I haven't been hiking around hood recently, so I am no help..per usual. In fact this post is completely unnecessary.
If you don't mind a small hike check out Mirror Lake, during the week. I can't tell you what the conditions are but it's a nice short hike some beautiful scenery.
There are a bunch of small, somewhat primitive, camp grounds up past Estacada. If it's still the same, the further away you get from North Fork Reservoir it's pit toilets and pump/well water. Take bug repelent! http://www.fs.usda.gov/activity/mthood/recreation/camping-cabins/?recid=52770&actid=29 Clackamas District, Kingfisher.....Just a few miles up the road is Bagby Hot Springs. There, I did the work for you, you'll be a romantic HERO! Mike
