Anyone with expierence with MPI Stocks?
I tried one a few years back, very poor quality
I bought a short action tactical style for my Rem 700 last summer. It was supposed to be ready for bedding. I was anything but. I had to to do a LOT of inleting, the barrel area was open to foam the full length. The area for the bottom metal was not even close to right. I had to fill many flaws and even a few cracks. For what I paid, and the hours and hours of time I put into it, I could have bought a pretty nice stock.
However, it has performed well since I finished it. Really tightened my groups at 300 and 600 yards.
There's a bunch of info about MPI over at the 'fire, if you do a search. I seem to recall a thread about them not too long ago, in the custom rifles and wildcats forum.
If you're willing and able to put in the work, they can be made into decent stocks. But they start rough for how much they cost.
