Cheney is a nice town. It's just kinda flat, dry and rocky out there.
We actually thought about buying a house right next to Eastern so our kids and a couple friends had reliable housing for the duration of their school years. And possibly using it as an Airbnb after that. The prices 3 years ago were unbelievably low. Not sure how much appreciation $$ is left on the vine currently, but the neighborhood being built right now is very promising.

I moved to the country from Spokane about 7 ys ago. I sold my house in town for $137k. It recently sold for $330k. The place I'm in now (triple wide manufactured home on 10 acres w a shop) I bought for $245k and I could easily get $550k or so now.

So yeah, it had to top out somewhere. It would suck to buy high and have the market crash.

Now that the prices of building materials are going down, I'm strongly considering selling my house, cashing out the equity and building on other property I own. I could have a minimal or no mortgage.

Not having a mortgage is literally the only way I can afford constantly buying guns. Lol
Because my income is very underwhelming.

My ex-wife went there. The times that I had to go over there made me think the town is only there for EWU. Otherwise, no great reason to live there and not Spokane.

Airway Heights would be a better choice if you wanted to live on the West Plains.

The best part of airway I've seen thus far has been the dump. No lines , easy back in area, friendly staff. 3 thumbs up.

The tribe that owns the casino next door bought it. They will keep it open as long as the community supports it. If not, they'll probably doze it and build something else.
Yeah my friends back there are excited about it...I love that track because it's one of the few places you can go and run the open track for like $35 or whatever ridiculous price it used to be.

I've been wanting to go back to bring the car in my thumbnail...I've got a lot more track time since I left Spokane and would be curious to see how much my times have improved. I heard they also improved the runoff as that was always pretty scary with all the huge rocks out there...I've been at a few events there that guys went off and suffered some pretty huge damage.

Sad how politics is brought into every post on the forum these days. OP simply said he's moving to Spokane because he misses the mountains, and that he's looking to meet up with some members.

Hope you make some new friends in Spokane OP!

Just a general shoutout to anyone in the Spokane area. My wife and I moved to Seattle from CO right before Covid but are now moving to Spokane at the end of the year to get back closer to the Rockies. Being away from them for a couple years made us realize that we are life long Rocky Mountain people. Hats off to those of you who love the rain forest but not our cup of tea lol. I know literally one other person in the state at this point due to our horrid timing but hoping to meet some people at whatever gun clubs etc Spokane has to offer.

Any have any recommendation of places in Spokane to meet other like minded people? I also do archery and fly fishing.
Yeah I recommend that if you want to do outdoor stuff and meet people in Spokane, go to Idaho. Covid has a magic boundary line at the WA/ID border. One side has lots of masks and hysteria and the other is people going on with thier lives.

This is a lie. No one cares about covid in spokane. Maybe costco and harbor freight make you wear masks, everyone else is over it.

I live west of the line I spoke of but I am in a constitutional county with a constitutional sheriff that informed our Salem Witch governor in writing that he will not enforce any covid mandates and we do still have many mask wearers in our rural OR county.
A friend of mine has made a few trips over summer between ND and NW OR, the last being in late August/early September. According to her in ND and all the way to the ID state line there is no sign of covid. But you get to WA and all of the sudden the KAREN's are everywhere. She also said it's not much better here.
I have family that resides in ID and works law enforcement in Spokane County and have family friends that are LEO in Spokane county. Some of the mentioned friends have appeared on the show 'Cops'. They don't agree with you. Sorry.
While I respect your difference of opinion on a post I made almost a month ago I don't appreciate being called a liar for a difference of opinion. If things have changed in SC since August/September, I think that's absolutely great. Things are changing in a lot of the country and world re: covid.
I just looked at WSU and U of I websites and it's 2 different worlds when it comes to covid. Look it up yourself.
I stand by my post and I'm not a liar. I won't engage in reactionary name calling with you. I will just present facts. Have a nice day.

@raylo , first off, I never said "you are a liar" I said "this is a lie". I didn't attack you personally, I merely stated that your post was complete and utter bullbubblegum.

Second, I live here. I interact with people here daily. I am basing my opinion off of what I experience first-hand on a daily basis. You are arguing with me based off what you've heard from tertiary unnamed sources. You sound like a reporter from CNN.

Now I never called you a liar, but I have no problem calling you a fool.

Maybe for the first couple months after the mask mandate being enacted, a handful of manic liberals may have felt emboldened to harass people refusing to wear masks, but since then, no one has dared.

Spokane is like the wild West, people out here are rough and tumble and have a big chip on their shoulder. The police don't get much involved in any situation, they're all about self-regulation out here. The vast majority of people would slap the bubblegum out of someone if a Karen got in their face to complain about a mask and the police wouldn't do much to punish whoever did the slapping. I don't even think they'd come out to respond to the call honestly.

People here are tough, but they're respectful until someone gives them a reason to get off some aggression.

You chose the word 'lie' and we both agree that I typed that statement which you called a lie. So ...you were saying I'm a truthful person with that statement, right? Explain it to me like I'm 2. When you say someone is lying you are essentially calling them a liar.
I lived in Spokane for a yr and N ID for decades. I'm familiar with the attitude there compared to Seattle. I'm also familiar with the attitude between Spokane and ID. You clearly are not.
I'm familiar with the wild west too. We defunded the police in my little town yrs ago and only have the county sheriff. It's street justice here. Very little crime. We say please and we say thank you. That's a wild west code. You've insulted me twice now without cause.
I sold some acreage this yr in ID and have been shopping for a home to return to Latah or Nez Perce county. Mostly because in my older age I want to be closer to family. I've been passing on properties in WA. I've spoken with many buyers and sellers over the last yr and a half including the couple from WA that bought my property at a nice mark up because they are sick of the WA mandates.
Everyone I talked to in ID during that yr and a half said the same thing. You see a few masks on the public in ID and everybody in WA is wearing them. The bar my brother goes to has banned WA's from coming in. My brother has said for almost two yrs the only people you see wearing masks are the WA's. (Actually he said Apple Maggots.) And BTW he's pissed at me for even suggesting to WA's that they should move to ID. He saw 4 masks on 4th of July weekend of 2020. How many did you see in Spokane?
I showed our little thread to a few people and none of them share your views. While I won't engage in name calling you might guess that some of them have the same opinion of you, that you insulted me with. Sorry about your perceptions. Good luck with that. You're the only person I know from WA that has your views.

You can judge an action without judging the character of the person. "That was stupid" =/= "you are stupid". "That was mean" =/= "you are mean". This is very basic stuff man, I don't know how else to explain it to you.

Again, you are still comparing my firsthand experience with secondhand accounts. It's very foolish to assert you being correct over hearsay and tell me I am wrong because you talked to some people sometimes.

Maybe 1 out of 10 people here wear masks. And even if they do, they're respectful of those who choose not to. The biggest reaction you will get is walking into a national chain like Costco and have employees ask you nicely to put on a mask.

You called me a fool.
You can try to back track and damage control all you like. What you aren't considering is that what you are telling me is 2nd hand info when it gets to me. You also keep talking about how things are now and I've acknowledged that my info may have been dated but not inaccurate as far as today's current status.
But you have certainly been very rude, condescending and disrespectful in this engagement and you clearly feel it's justified. I'll let you give a response out of fairness and after that I'd like to 'ignore' you in my settings. Have a nice day.
