So I'm a huge movie junkie, but haven't been to the theatre in awhile -- anyone seen anything lately that's worth paying movie theatre prices?

Specifically wondering if Australia, Role Models, or Four Christmases is any good?

I'm hesitant about the new Punisher... only because Thomas Jane won't be the leading man. I loved the Punisher from 2004; I just don't think this new one will be to my expectations.

I'm also wondering if Step Brothers is worth renting -- it looks pretty hilarious,... but I would hate to find out that all the previews shown on tv make up all the funny parts...

Saw "Quantum of Solace" this weekend. I think I liked the last Bond better, but this was pretty good. I like the "Bourne Identity" direction they're going with the Bond series - more gritty. It's really more of a continuation of Casino Royale & it would have helped to watch that to refresh my memory.

My one big complaint about the movie: the evil plan is kinda stupid. The "modern sensibilities" of this movie with fuel cells, eco-stuff and whatever kind of reminded me of "Tomorrow Never Dies" and its "techno-terrorist"/information-age theme. Also, the opening scene in "Quantum" goes on waaayyy too long - enough already, get to the movie!

I'm a decent Will Ferrel fan and I'm pretty easy going when it comes to most movies, but I was a bit disappointed with Step Brothers. Definitely some funny parts but other parts were just 'meh'.
Another friend said that Four Christmases was cute/funny.
Just saw Hellboy2 and it was just ok. Was expecting more, but I also had a bunch of beer and pizza in me so I could've been thinking about other things. :s0114:

I dont/wont spend money on movies anymore. I am constantly dissapointed. WHat ever happened to movies like the ladies man and night at the roxbury you could watch over and over and still die laughing? One that was really good that came out a bit ago is the dewey cox story, long but so damn funny.... " and you never paid for drugs, not once!". hb2 was alright i guess, quantum of solice was good but im a huge bond fan anyway. Also anything star wars related. Im sure none of that helped but im up at 3:30 am with nothing better to do so sue me ;).

I really like Dark Knight, enough to ask my daughter to buy it for me at Christmas. But then I am an old errr aahhh anyway I like the movie. Last year she bought me 3:10 to Yuma and it is still a favorite.

I will go see The Day the Earth Stood Still. I own the original on DVD and it made a big impression on me when I was a kid. Back when most movies were black and white.

I made this list a few months ago, and I'm darn proud of it.
It's separated by a general feeling of the genre, and you'll probably understand more as you read the sections.

All of the bold movie titles are good favorites, but there was no way I could remember them all.

So;
Feel free to add any recommendations, I know I forgot that I have forgotten too many to even list.

I took my daughter to see Bolt in 3D last weekend. The 3D was amazing:s0155:, and a cute movie.

Then you would like Wall-E, however it's spelled. All around family movie, but the ladies think it's the cutest thing ever, total killer. I took a cutie to that movie at the semi-local drive-in this summer.

..That date went very well.
