Mounting a Romeo 1 on M17

So I’m looking for an adapter plate to get a Romeo 1 on to a M17 with the DeltaPoint footprint.

Is that possible? Will the extra height of the adapter plate throw my shot consistency off?

Update! I got some M4 0.7x8.5 screws that are super snug in the optic, but fit the M17 screw holes well. The problem is there’s a gap even after tightening. The fix appears to be this:
