President Trump's administration has just finalized a push from President Obama's administration to remove the majority of firearms manufacturing in the U.S. from ITAR restrictions, moving them to the State Department. Now, to manufacture most civilian-legal guns no longer requires an ITAR license based on the theory that you could export the guns (or plans) to some other country.
No longer requires a $2,250/year ITAR license
Still heavily regulated under the Commerce Department
Plans for guns, including 3D Printer, can now legally be shared online under Federal laws (State laws may vary)
Less paperwork.

This is good news

Yes, this is GREAT news! I wanted to get into making replacement parts a few years ago, but was reminded of this ITAR bs. Made me stop in my tracks!

Now, i may revisit the idea.

Great news indeed !!!
