Mossberg 500 issue

Has anyone ever had their Mossberg still have the pump slide locked after firing? When I shoot mine I have to manually hit the release in order to pump and cycle my shotgun. Any suggestions to this cause would be helpful.

Haven't run into this myself, or heard of it. Is this a new gun? Has it ever done this before? The first thing I wonder though is have you recently disassembled and reassembled the shotgun? Perhaps something didn't get put back quite right.

If not, maybe @Velzey has a suggestion.

Old gun, I got used. I have not taken it apart, as I research it may just need a deep cleaning

Yeah, sounds like something is "gummed up". Drop out the trigger pack and bolt assembly and clean them suckers up!
