CBS has new revelation in Zapata slaying, and Sen. Grassley is not happy

CBS News’ Sharyl Attkisson is reporting that a Texas man has been convicted for trafficking a firearm connected to the murder of Jaime Zapata, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent killed more than a year ago in a Mexican ambush.
This came as a surprise to Sen. Charles Grassley…

Not surprised the ATF hasn't told Congress anything about this, it's how they operate. As long as Senator Grassley and others allow this kind of unilateral disrespect for the subpena power of the Congress to perpetuate itself, the more the ATF and the other three letter organizations will run their own show and ignore Congressional oversight.

Is there a potential for perjury by the ATF in all this mess?

Another thing that I am finding interesting is aren't there some folks on this forum that denied that the gun violence in Mexico couldn't be from trafficking/straw purchasing? That the charge by the Mexican government that weapons from the US were being used in the gun violence there was a bogus claim???

There has been the potential for many thousands to face perjury over the years for various atrocities

They never will because it really is a big dog and pony show to sucker you into believing there is this thing called justice

The beat goes on

That's why Fast & Furious (and other gun running programs) was hatched, to provide a basis for claiming the guns came from the US when, in fact, the vast majority came from South America, the Mexican government and overseas gun dealers. Guns sold/given to Mexico by the US government have US serial numbers so they "came from the US". Never mind that they were then stolen or given to the drug cartels, they still "came from the US" Problem is that the drug cartels have billions of dollars to buy what ever they want from foreign arms dealers. That never seems to hit the lamestream news.

Int’l gun rights group wants Holder gone over F&F

An international gun rights organization founded with the support of the Bellevue-based Second Amendment Foundation and Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms went on the warpath Thursday, demanding that Attorney General Eric Holder resign… because of Operation Fast and Furious.

I have my own idea's as to why Issa and Boeher haven't pushed harder yet...it is called "election time"...IMHO: they want to get as much evidence as possible for fast and furous gate, probably about the time the Republician Presidential candidate is chosen, to do as much damage to the democrats and Obama as possible, without giving them extra time to cover and recover.

At the present moment Obama has a large advantage in fund raising and spending...he is doing a lot of fund raising, and very little spending, while the republician candidates are spending and spending more fighting each other.

Is it what Should happen? Probably not, but then that is politics...there is only one person that is honest and plays fair, that is Ron Paul, and unfortunately you know how many states that has won him. VI

Issa to CNN: ‘We’ve been lied to by DoJ’

California Congressman Darrell Issa has evidently gotten his “second wind” and in a Thursday evening interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper regarding Operation Fast and Furious and a similar project in Texas, accused the Justice Department and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives of lying to Congress.

Holder lied to congress? who would have thougt? After he only has three strikes against him...he is a political beast, he is a lawyer, and a Donkey

Blah-blah-blah.

All this "outrage" on the part of our elected officials is useless unless it's followed up by meaningful action. So far, we've seen nothing useful come out of these proceedings except to reinforce healthy mistrust of the g'vmnt by the people it's supposed to be of, by, and for...

Are reasons for Fast & Furious cover-up becoming clear?

More breaking news about how Manuel Fabian Celis-Acosta – the chief gun smuggling suspect in Operation Fast and Furious – was released more than once by U.S. authorities who had him in custody and probable cause to keep him there is beginning to suggest why there has been such an effort by the Justice Department to keep this story under wraps.

The ‘O’Reilly Factor’: Issa, Grassley want to quiz ex-WH staffer on F&F

One strand at a time, the noose appears to be tightening around Operation Fast and Furious, and as Northwest gun rights activists follow the investigation keenly, Congressman Darrell Issa and Senator Charles Grassley are demanding to interview a key former White House staffer about what he knew and when he knew it about the mishandled gun trafficking sting.

Issa: ‘We want to play fair’…but

In separate interviews this week, Congressman Darrell Issa has repeatedly accused the White House of interfering with his investigation of Operation Fast and Furious by not allowing a potentially key witness to testify about what he knew, and perhaps who he told, during his time on the White House’s national security staff.

When the RICO Act is applied to those behind all this.. to the highest levels of government, then there will be justice. Loving life as I do I am not going to hold my breath while waiting for this fairy tale to take place
