People are now complaining that the new Batmobile in the upcoming Batman movie is so heavily armed with guns. The guns are quite prominent, and hard to miss. They claim that the new movie is not being true to the comics, by having Batman rely on guns so much.

They are upset that the movie is following the lead of the violent Arkham Knight video game, which features an even more heavily armed Batmobile, that sports a chain gun and a 20mm cannon:

What do you think? Should a vigilante who dresses up like a Bat use guns against evil doers?? Is it OK for "good guys" and heroes to be armed with guns?

I do not know what caliber these are, but here is the front of the new Batmobile in the upcoming movie:

Batman started out using guns. This is from 1940s:

So it looks like they made Batman more politically correct in the '60's. I know that in the '60's TV series, Batman never used any guns.

Mmmmmm..... So some people are complaining about the use of guns in a movie?
I wonder if those same folks are also complaining of the level of violence being shown in the movie as entertainment?

Don't get me wrong , I like a good "shoot 'em up" as it were , but to go a movie about a vigilante who takes justice into his own hands and then complain of guns , just dosen't make sense to me.

I think it is more a complaint that the hero, the protagonist is using guns. It is OK for the bad guys to use guns, as they generally die or go to jail at the end of the flick.

Have you seen Quentin Tarantino's new western, The Hateful Eight? It is simply awful. Everyone in the film turns out to be bad, awful people. And then they proceed to kill each other in the most gratuitous ways. Lots of gratuitous violence directed at the female character too. Very dumb film.

Hollywood does not really make decent westerns anymore that have true and just good guys, and I think that part of that is this new bias against having the hero killing bad guys with guns. They seem afraid to glorify guns and gun users. They are actually OK with gun violence, as long as it is being done by bad people. They are such utter hypocrites.

The only recent western that I really enjoyed watching was THE SALVATION, which came out in 2014. It was made by a Danish film company in South Africa, and post production on it was done in England.

Extremely bloody and violent western, which features a good and decent Danish immigrant farmer ( played by the always excellent Mads Mikkelsen ), who suffers incredible injustice and harm, inflicted on himself and his family by numerous villains, led by Jeffrey Dean Morgan ( he played the Comedian in WATCHMEN ).

Quite good acting, and the plot has some interesting twists in it. Will remind you a little bit of some of the old Clint Eastwood Spaghetti Westerns. Except, in this film, Mikkelsen's character has more than enough justification to go on his bloody rampage of revenge with his Winchester rifle. Mikkelsen and Morgan both elevate the film with their acting. It gets a fairly decent 70% rating on Rotten Tomatoes too. Not a great rating, but not bad either. I certainly enjoyed it, despite it being such a dark film.

it is available to watch on Hulu, Amazon, and Netflix:

Well, for one, it is Tarantino. What did you expect? All his stuff has been ultraviolent.
And second, it is called The Hatefull Eight. And they all are pretty much hateful.

    B-)

Good point. I guess I should have considered the title more carefully.

Anyway, his movies really are getting to be boring, in my opinion. In addition to be gratuitous and dumb. I don't know why he is considered to be such a darling by the Hollywood establishment and press. There are even some complaints today about this movie and Tarantino himself not receiving Oscar nominations!
