Modifying a blackhawk cqc holster platform

I want to trim down the wings of a black hawk holster platform. I want a thinner platform, currently feeling creative, cheap, and I dont want to change platforms. Has anyone done this before?
I have already stopped using the SERPA holsters due to popular range instructors banning them because of safety. Thiughts or ideas?
