Crap. My post got "bubblegumed." In my previous post please use "mentally deficient" in place of the "R" word that I had originally used (which seems to have been changed to "bubblegum"). Thank you.

I think some fella with enough smarts would make a shotgun load that was flavored with spices. Hunting ducks? Number 4 Southwestern Spice Load. Pheasants? Number 6 Asian 5 Spice Load. There's millions to be made there.

I wonder how many poor little birds have been thrashed to death by the glorious windmills in the gorge.Oh I know that's different. And none of them were ever used for food.Just left dead at the base of the Green Giant.

I think its all about incremental cost increases to make shooting expensive and to eventually eliminate firearm hunting.

Look at the hunting regulations in Oregon, reads like the tax code now-days. They promote and add incentives for the use of bows for hunting, when bow hunting probably results in more injured animals that escape and die than rifle hunting ever does.

Looks like they are pushing us to hunt like the Indians did a long, long time ago.

Since the EPA was assigned its new role of controlling carbon as a toxic substance anything is possible to use to promote the enviormental agenda. Carbon is part of the air we breath. Next it will be Oxygen that they will want to control, so that they can tax the very air we breath.

Its like the spotted owl, if they can label something toxic they can run with the ball, make money, create jobs for professional protesters, etc.

when i moved here i got a copy of the fishing regs. after 5 minutes i realized that i needed to find a lawyer to fish with.

Ha! Ha! Yes, pick up a copy of the hunting regs and the Upland bird regs.
It is very easy to wander into the wrong location and be violation of some part of the regulations. Playing the lottery to get an antelope tag may take you 15 years, all the while you pay them each year for the privilege of filing for that tag. It is said that many environmental types file for the tags and never use them to prevent actual hunting of the listed species.

Hunting and fishing has gotten very political in Oregon. If you pack in a big staff of folks with nothing to do,they will sit and rewrite the regulations each year to put more money in the coffers. Money brings higher wages, benefits and even more staff. Money is power in government.:s0155:

So how do you guys like the way the progressive socialist are running your lives?:s0112::s0112:You got phoney numbers in global warming going to force you to pay higher energy cost with cap and trade. Now you got the liars saying we poison all the animals with our shooting lead bullets. Of course when they ban lead any material then used will be banned too.

You guys better figure it out before it is too late that Progressives are here to run your life and if you want freedom you better vote em all out.

Hey guys. We can all call this for what it is. But the question is, lets look at the science behind it...

Lead is one of the more chemically inert metals, in fact it's so inert that it stands up to strong acids and is used to line pipes that acids flow through.

Metallic lead (which bullets are made out of) even in powdered form does not dissolve in water, and is dense enough that it doesn not form colloidal solutions in water.

Because of lead's high stability any animals eating metallic lead are unlikely to suffer any ill effects, and it's uptake into the food chain is low, much lower than mercury, cadmium, and a number of other toxic heavy metals. The only significant formations which result in lead which is soluable in water are nitric acid, and acetic acid. However, acids are exceedingly rare in nature, and environmental sulfur has a tendancy to reduce metallic lead into lead sulfide, more commonly known as, and mined as the mineral galena.

I have had to deal with this BS down here in california, especially in hunting regs. There is a huge swath of land in the central valley where you can only hunt using lead-free bullets due to the california condor and it's apparent succeptability to it's own stupidity and unfitness to continue as a species.

When dealing with these idiotic pseudo-scientific debates it is important to back up what you say immediately with facts, and to blindside your adversary with facts that they have no answer for. If all you can do is call it a back-door ammunition ban, that's great for the pro-gun peanut gallery, but the continual problem we have as a representative republic is the ruling class will ignore the calls, and say "but look... science". In part because they are too stupid to determine what is actually scientific fact, and scientific fallacy.

For example:

Algore: Look, the temperature goes up with the CO2.

Answer: Actually, it's the other way around. As sea level temperatures rises the solubility of CO2 in water drops, thus more CO2 is released from the atmosphere. As proof of concept, open a bottle of cold seltzer water, and a bottle of warm seltzer water. The gas will come out of solution in the warm seltzer water faster.

Algore's argument reverses the cause and the effect to support his cause and ignore the facts. The fact is global variability in temperature has been a constant on this planet since it became a planet. Hot cycles and ice ages have punctuated the existence of the planet. Anthropogenic global warming is an untested hypothesis, and the predictions rely heavily on weighted computer models, which are often fed bad data.
