I travel to Mexico frequently for business and I'm pretty safe on saying that the productive members of Mexican society aren't enthusiastic about this turn of events.

This is good news for the cartels. People say Mexico isn't that bad and its just the cartel owned areas that are bad, but when the cartels own a lot of Mexico... Mexico is that bad.

And now only the cartels and the Mexican military has guns.

Keep in mind this isn't the first time this happened. The police in Tijuana were disarmed by the army for corruption, and they were given slingshots.
