Not sure if this is the same Captain Morgan I have heard about.

But from what I understand, to be in the group, you had to qualify by having your best friend hold a roof shingle between his legs at 60 yards. If you hit the shingle, you were IN.

As important as the battle of Battle Road / Lexington and Concord are in American history.....
I'd say two things about them are often misrepresented or mistaken / myth made....

Rifles....rifles were not used there.
And most engagements of the war were done in standard file / battle rank / and with the conventional tactics of the time period....
Not with "hiding behind a stonewall / tree" or guerilla warfare style.

Please note that I am not saying that rifles , guerilla warfare or the taking advantage of cover was not done or used during the war.
They certainly were....just not to the extent that popular myth and history make 'em out to be.

I am saying that the American Army fought many , if not most battles using the standard battle tactics of the day.
That is one of the reasons why Washington was wanting to get Von Steuben's help with the re-formation and training of the US Army at Valley Forge.
