Well, finally they catch on..
The worst part about the LGBT is they are usually so rabidly liberal they just throw away their rights.. One of which being the right for self preservation.

Honestly I don't know why more gays and lesbians embrace firearms and the right to carry..

More do than you might think, but the reality is that most of the politicians who support gay rights are left wing and anti-gun while most of the politicians who support gun rights are right-wing and anti-gay. Most pro-2nd Amendment gay people wind up "staying in the closet" when it comes to their ownership or use of guns.

Well of we can find common cause to preserve constitutional rights, I'm good, more power to 'em.
Gun ownership and support for the 2nd Amendment cannot continue being solely the province of angry white men. I know this makes me sound like a liberal, but we need more diversity within our ranks.

Gays with guns don't get bashed.
If a candidate is pro-2nd but anti-gay, I will vote for him ,if his opponent is anti-2nd and pro gay. Being pro-gay means nothing if the politician that "supports" me strips me of my right to protect myself ,which then allows some big thug to kill me because he didn't like the way I dressed or acted or whatever.
Gay men fought in the Revolutionary war and died....but in the end no one cared about sexual preferences...we cared about freedom for our fellow man and the ability for each man and woman to lead their own destiny without intrusion into their personal matters by others, be they individuals with ill intent or corrupted governments ,without a fight.

Sorry...but it angers me when so called "liberals" uses another persons lifestyle as a political platform. If you cant support my basic constitutionally protected rights...how can you support me at all?

I'd like to believe that.. But with my personal experiance come my opinion.
Sadly Id chalk the numbers up to about 10% actually own firearms or engage in a defensive lifestyle.

The other odd part is, most are proud of who they are sexually and fight against discrimination.. Why would firearm ownership be any different?

One of the issues is when those same 'angry white men' find out other non-white men have guns they end up passing gun control laws trying to stop the non-white men from getting them.

Example, most of the California laws were passed when the Black Panthers demonstrated their right to carry firearms. It was NOT to curb gun violence, just to curb blacks from owning firearms. Maybe us angry-white guys have finally figured out that we can't use our own prejudice to color the long term impact on our own rights due to our FUD against those different from us.

IE Any law you use to limit the rights of others, can and WILL be used against you.

A non-angry white guy who wants all of us to equally be free under the constitution. And as long as you don't harm anyone else, and while I may disagree with what you do with your freedom, I still will fight for your freedom to do it.

I am for the rights of any law-abiding, non-prohibited, legal citizen of this country owning firearms. I don't see it as a race, gender, religious, sexual orientation or political affiliation issue. We need as much support on this issue as possible, which means we must support those that wish to realize their 2nd amendment rights, so that we don't lose ours. The more we gain on our side, the stronger we are.

There are a number of people, groups, movements, etc. I personally disagree with, but I stand up for their rights, so long as they aren't doing anything illegal or dangerous to others.

And that goes for the 1st amendment as well :)

"Angry White Guys" ? Are we talking about those that hide behind sheets? Or is it skinheads that have failed at everything else in their lives? Sure I 'm an "Angry White Guy" when I see pictures of unopposed looting, or gang assaults.

Anti-gay is a different thing than not being Pro-Gay. I'd argue that most of the "Right Wing Gun Rights Politicians" are not Anti-Gay. They just are not Pro Gay and feel the laws in place are enough to protect everyone. Of course the Left has twisted the message. Unfortunately the few truly Anti-Gay loudmouth, right wing Republican Politicians are used as examples to back up the Left's claim.

Exactly, I don't want to drag the thread off into the weeds, but I'm not anti or pro-gay. I don't give a rat's arse who you're kissing, just keep your business to yourself and don't act like a sleeze in heat while out in public.

I don't walk around in public shouting, "I'm hetero hear me roar" and grab at my wife's "wobbly-bits" while riding a bicycle naked in front of kids down Main Street.

I'd also not stand by and watch someone get beat up either, regardless of who/what they are... except (of course) a child molester.

It's called respecting other people. ;)

The "Gay Pride" parade...:eek::eek:...:confused:

I have yet to see anything to be proud of there..:(

Really? How about the fact we live in a country where people can march, express their viewpoints, and not be gunned down for it. (well mostly). You may disagree with the act or content or whatever, but I'm kind of proud of the fact I live in a country where people are allowed to do it. Oh, and the fact it is mostly peaceful is another thing to be proud about.

One doesn't need to agree with their view points to agree with their ability to do it.

When I try to explain my Libertarian view to folks who only seem to understand the Red/Blue team political spectrum I tell them that basically I am socially very liberal (I am for gay marriage, legalizing drugs and so on) and fiscally very conservative ( I want a small government)

That is not a great statement but its as close as I can get without having a 20 minute discussion to explain my idea of a libertarian view point.

You can be Libertarian and socially Conservative or Liberal either way yourself. Libertarians as I understand it just feel on most social issues that the govt. has no business getting involved.
Communists and Libertarians have very little in common. Gay Libertarians = Communists?? Don't think so. I'll bet they vote Dem which has become Socialist IMO!
I like a lot of Libertarian thinking BTW but some of it (Foreign Policy) is not realistic.

Trying to explan the difference between minarchist libertarianism and strict anarcho-capitolism is probably best left to the philosophers. I try to err on the side of less government now! We can verify if we cut to much and work back from there.
