I usually don't venture much beyond the tactical gear, retro AR, MYOG Tactical gear, tactical sewing, and vintage sewing machine subreddits. I left all the NSFW subreddits (including the art subs) that I used to contribute to, and follow; simply because I felt like I outgrew them, or no longer care much about them. (Edit, and deleted all my NSFW posts over the last 4 or so years)

That statement is really optimistic. Seems more of a dream than a reality, especially after the last four years.
Yeah, I fully understand the Skepticism.

And truly, my feeling is just anecdotal. But IMO, over the past 80 years there has only been Three Truly Conservative Bright Spots:

1) Barry Goldwater
2) Ronald Reagan
3) Donald Trump

And, as they say.. Third Time is the Charm :)

Keep in Mind, the Second Amendment is a FEDERAL ISSUE. Oregon DEMS have No SAY in that. And if anything, The SCOTUS is now only Likely to become Even MORE Conservative.

We still have the 9th District Circus to deal with

Edit. Name one pro2A decision that came from the 9th in the last 30 years.

Easier to find all the anti2A decisions and overturns at that level, and easy to find the cases that got Granted Certiorari, Vacated, and Remanded, and those that are still going through the District again

Yes 30 Years. But Since Heller and Bruen?? All that Matters.
And CA, 9th District, Immergut relating to M114........still refuse to apply Bruen/Heller properly.

So, I have serious doubts that all the sudden, 9th District, to say nothing of Oregon Supremes, will apply Bruen properly if SCOTUS doesn't get nasty with 9th District cases

Yeah Bro. THIS will get interesting for Sure. ;)

There is certainly a lot to unpack from the last election. One of them is the Republican general lack of attack ads. The Dems were perfectly OK to tell outright lies about our candidates, and in some cases, they got away with it. The DNC pumped a tremendous amount of money into several races including Kevin Mannix, Tracy Cramer, and Cyrus Javaldi. It appears they were successful in stealing Cramer's seat but it cost them a tremendous amount of time and money.

There's also the issue of HB 2002 that our side refused to leverage, and we did it several times in a most dramatic fashion. The first was Knopp saying the senate walkout was about procedural issues and not child sexualization and mutilation. We then continued to bypass the issue in this election. Not being clear about what we're about and why, has cost us dearly and will continue to do so if we continue to allow ourselves to be lazy and afraid to speak inconvenient truths.

We have the opportunity to speak intelligently about the upcoming battles concerning deportation of criminal illegals. Bumper sticker slogans will be the end of us if we don't delve deep into the issue and come up with concise and simple arguments that attack violent criminals instead of allowing our words to appear to be attacking innocent children.

With the splits now occurring in the Oregon Republican party, it looks pretty bleak right now. Hopefully, the bitterness and anger will subside and we can go forward together instead of remaining divided.
I don't know why Republicans in Oregon were so quiet during the run up to the election. It would seem there was a lot to challenge. Maybe the RNC sees the west cost as a money pit and doesn't support us.

Like the Lowe's in Hillsboro next to Home Depot. Both parking lots are full. Give people options and they will use them.

edit: Looks like I got a double quote from an earlier post. Am traveling and my Android is as old as me. It wasn't showing 😕

Any update to the appeal court decision on the Measure 114 litigation?
Back in October, Tony said

Anytime from day of to infinity and beyond. Typical is 3-6 months on a case like this. They have a six day trial to pour through, an extensive written record, overlong briefs of 15,000 words each not including the reply... I've had one COA decision before that took 6 weeks. Tyler, my boss, has had decisions wait nearly a year

So this isn't another case of a 150 page decision released a few hours afterwards?

:D

It does give some hope that the ruling isn't simply written by anti-gun clerks ahead of time like happened with immergut.

Watching the hearing I didn't get the sense that the Kristina judge would not use proper procedure. The older lady also. That may not mean much in the long run but what immergut did was a complete sham of justice and utter disregard for law. It was shameful and embarrassing imo.

I agree about I am a gut .... she knew darn well about the bruen decision and thumbed her nose at the USSC .

Apparently I like to live dangerously, so I decided to play Russian Roulette and make 3 major gun purchases, as we sit here in limbo land with no idea when a ruling may drop. This Black Friday had some GOOD deals, and I couldnt resist making some purchases. The whole time I was thinking, man what if something happens while these are en route???

I was thankful that all three vendors I purchased from, they shipped right away, and all with 2 day shipping. Two arrived today, a Colt Python and FN SCAR, got instants, and was able to take home. The third purchase, a Staccato CS, received a 'weather delay' so supposed to arrive tomorrow or Wednesday. While i wait I will be a nervous wreck until it shows up, and I am driving away with it sitting shotgun in the car with me . . .

I wonder how many are holding out on making purchases during this current limbo land timeframe, with the worry that if suddenly there is a ruling your gun may be stuck in purgatory?

Obligatory new gun pics. FYI that FN SCARS come in the most GINORMOUS boxes-what the heck?? ;-) (Ramen Noodles for scale)

Ha! In all fairness, I sold off about 6 guns to make these purchases. Then I got incredibly lucky- both guns purchased way below going price- the Colt Python was a Black Friday "Doorbuster" deal, for $899!! The SCAR, while expensive, I got for $2650 from Family Firearms, when they dropped the price to as low as I have ever seen it for a short period of time. I was worried both venders would cancel, but neither did! So yeah, a lot of money still, but way below going price! ;-).

I had planned on waiting until after whatever the outcome is for this next round of litigation, but I just could not pass up the deal!

Ah, another fellow r/gundeals addict?

Congrats, those are some sweet purchases!

And here I was thinking buying a 586, USP9 and a Beretta A300 shotgun in the last few weeks was a big deal. All three of those barely cost more than just your SCAR
