I used a paq-4c and PVS-7B in the military (I think that makes me old now) and yes for nighttime disputes they are revolutionary.

My personal use case is most likely a meth head with a knife trying to break in the house and my motion detectors alerting me within a couple seconds. In that scenario I wouldn't take the time to put on 7B's, turn them on, etc. I'd grab a handgun with white light.

Other people have different use cases, to each their own.
