Pity the poor local District Attorney whose code begins:

1. Whenever a cop shoots anyone it's JUSTIFIED! (nothing to see here - move along, citizen).

2. Anyone who injures a cop in any way must be legally lynched without delay.

Therefore the cop was justified. But he shot a cop. But all cop shootings are justified. But a cop was shot. But all cop shootings are justified. But he shot a cop. (Repeat over and over in an increasingly chipmunk-sounding voice).

Now let's all stand back and watch as the DA's head explodes.

How fortunate for Massachusetts that they have a pretty much unlimited supply of prosecutors and cops. ;)

I suspect it was a negligent shoot vs. an accident.
Well as you probably know since you posted this, there isn't many 'accidental' shootings.
Mostly NEGLIGENT
So the word of the day for this DA is "complacency".
Always treat your gun as if it was loaded.
AND (heeheehee) never point it at something you don't want to destroy! (heeheehee)
Like your leg?
I am just glad it wasn't a innocent bystander who would have been told he should have got out of the area

"looking into if the officer took proper safety precautions when moving the firearm"

Um... no. it was loaded.

No the LE was completely safe . Obviously Must be a Remington Shotgun when he had his finger on the Trigger and pulled it ? .
So, the Trigger Group is the 'fault' , and the Firearms manufacture gets immediately tried thew the media setting-up for another class action suit that drags them thru the courts for 12 years at a cost of over 100 million-$$$ .
