BLM stated that National Forest is in charge of the Marys Peak Rd. and recreation area closure. The Corvallis feild office is still temporarily closed so I called down to the Oregon Dunes office and Ashley said she is aware of the closure and would reach out to her public relations folks to have them update https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/siuslaw/recreation/recarea/?recid=42311 the areas status on the website. As of this morning the website still showed "open" even though that status is incorrect. As far as the county signage placed off of HWY 34, I would probably heed it as there may be some snow cats working further up the road. They could be in search and rescue mode or just digging out stranded vehicles from last week still.

Like a dork I accidently posted this in a private message instead of the forum thread.
It's been a while since Tracy and I had been up to Marys Peak. A lot of tree damage on the road still. Didnt stop at the quarry because there were some people shooting. Cleaned up down the 3000 line in our normal spots. Didnt get the first little landing. Ran out of time. Stopped and picked up all the garbage along the road also unless it was down the hill a bit. Was surprised, I thought it would have been worse. Left a big pile of wood for someone that wants a bonfire. Tracy did a great job on the pallet nails and steel casings. Even though we didn't do any shooting it was a great day.

Date night up on the Peak tonight? Ok not really but it was nice to get out for a late afternoon drive. We did get dinner together afterwards. Haven't been up there in a while. No animals out wandering around. We did our normal loop. 2 of the spots were pretty bad but they look nice now. Just don't know what is going on with people anymore.

I'm looking forward to the date, time and place of the meeting place. Will do my best to be there. I know you and Tracy are out there most every week, and sure appreciate your efforts to help save our places to shoot, but you need help! BLM, Siuslaw Nat Forest and law enforcement have stated they appreciate what you two do. It's great they know there are responsible shooters who care about public land shooting. Trash No Land will foot the disposal cost, so don't worry about that part. I also have a bunch of trash bags available. I'm sure we could come up with a few hot dogs for a lunch!

Hope some others join us! It's more fun and we get more done if we have more help. Besides that, we get to exercise our weapons of mass destruction! :s0003:

Thanks you two!
