I've collected Marlin rifles for decades, and your number and the fact it's a .30-30 makes yours a pre WWI era Model 1893. Since you didn't mention the model I'm guessing yours has a tang sight on it, which covers up the Model 1893 rollstamp on the top tang?No sir, no luck. Perhaps one of the Marlin collectors could contact me for specific info on it?

A picture would help me to help you as to whether it's a standard 1893 with 26" octagon barrel, or some other configuration that might make it a "special order" variation.
