Unfortunately the 'takedown' aspect of the mod 39 is intended as more of a maintenance/cleaning operation than used regularly for storage or packing.

The frame splits apart as part of the process and if not done very carefully it would be easy to damage the mating edges of the frame. It is not something that can be done quickly such as like a 10-22 or PCC.
Also once it is separated the internals are exposed and could easily be damaged as well as exposed to dust/grime etc.
