I received this rifle on a trade and don't really have any use for it so I'm putting it up for sale. It's a Marlin 1895 chambered in .45/70 Govt. with 22" barrel. It is absolutely beautiful with no dings or nicks that I can see and looks like it just came out of the box. No owners manual or original packaging, just the rifle.

Here's a link to the manufacturers website: Marlin Classic Model 1895

Looks to be a newer one so probably micro grove......but yeah it should say on the barrel.

It doesn't say anything on the barrel about rifling (unless it's under the forearm) but the website says "deep-cut Ballard-type rifling (6 grooves)."

    That's all I know...

look at the rifling, if its a whole lot of grooves then its micro, if there is only a few its ballard. Let me know if its ballard, I might
    be interested.

It has distinct rifling marks and does not have micro grooves.
