The rifling will be fine but stabilizing the heavies with a 1-38 twist may be a problem. Only one way to find out. Give it a go and get back to us.

Mine loved 300 gr Hornady XTP bullets with a case full of H-110.

I would shoot paper fist make sure they don't tumble and let us know I haven't tried it in my marlin yet either.

Federal used to make a 300 gr. lead load that was almost as fast as the stock 240 grainer.
Out of a rifle, I calculated the ME at over 2000 ft./lbs.
