You'll see it, it will just be spun by "statistically" stating how many children he single handedly saved by getting the firearm off the streets. I really wish they would have waited for him to take it home and have in his possession for a while to remove the chance of him weaseling out with his BS. Of course, if I were so loudly attempting to stomp on the rights of Americans, I'd be arming myself too. Kip.

Aside from the hypocrisy buying an AR or any gun for that matter just to turn it over to the police is stupid. I though astronauts were suppossed to be bright people.

Nothing new here. The ruling class always exempts themselves from the laws they enact.

Just wait he will do one of two things.

1-come out and say it was way too easy to walk in and buy a killing machine that has no purpose but to kill people.

2- support some stupid legislation that will take away our AR's and because he is part of the privilaged class, but that he an keep his AR.

From what I read, he's already trying the "For Demonstration Purposes Only" excuse...but people aren't fools. Nobody is stupid enough to think he was doing anything but buying it for himself.

It's just that most won't hear about it, because the mainstream press won't touch it. Teamwork, don'tcha know.

What makes him think the police want it? If the shop sold it legally, and he bought it legally, then the police have no beef with it. It's no different than him giving the police his blender, the AR has not been used in a crime, just like the blender didn't make someone a drink that made them drink and drive.

If you're going to give the police something, make it Krispy Kremes.

Upside is......when this gets out, and it'll take a while, all his anti gun rhetoric is now null and void.

Iv'e yet to see this story on any Lame Stream media outlet.

Now if we could only catch Bloomberg drinking a 32 oz Coke out of a Styrofoam cup to shut his pie hole.

Didn't he commit a "straw purchase" since he wasn't buying it for himself, or did he just lie and changed his mind about keeping the AR when the news got out?

I don't know that the "Straw Purchase" is illegal yet. The trouble you get in when doing a straw purchase is lying on the 4473 about who the weapon is for. The charge is lying on a federal firearm purchase form. 10 Years.

He could say that the purchase was for him but ten seconds after he bought it he had a change of heart and hes going to GIVE it to Law Enforcement. Total BS

A one man buy back program..........Yeah right

he's giving the explanation with plans on giving it to the police. i wouldn't be surprised if he was buying it for himself or for somebody with ties to a mexican drug cartel. tucson is less than an hour north of the border, depending on how you drive.
