License- permission granted by the authority having jurisdiction to engage in, participate, or exercise within an activity that is deemed a privilege and not a civil right.

I know they are lying when they want to reduce only gun violence. You can stab or choke the hell out of someone, just as long as you don't use a gun.

I think it was last year in Japan some guy stabbed 19 people in a hospital or assisted living facility. Londoners are still marching to end knife violence. People will be marching until it's, end mean stares violence. US prisons are among the most violent gun/knife free zones on the planet. When someone's give a care meter is at zero **** like say, criminals, I stop listening to people with no solutions.

We need TV commercials -- nonpartisan factual information. For example as I sit here thinking about WA's red flag law and the "preponderance of the evidence" standard, I really don't think most people understand that that means a confidence level just a smidge above pure chance.

Judge thanks the attorneys for their arguments and the camera swings over to a bailiff standing next to a wheel that is used for gambling purposes, divided into 100 pie slices, 49 of which say guilty and 51 of which say innocent. The balif spins the wheel and as the pointer goes clack clack clack, the defense and prosecution make impassioned comments (not "big money, big money" but something along those lines). The scene fades out as a commentator explains that fundamental human rights should not be put in jeopardy based on a standard no better than a casino game, and that if one right can be subjected to that kind of spin of the wheel, all rights can be.

Judges and juries do virtually the same thing every single day in civil matters based on the "preponderance" standard.

I once suggested that the schools be hardened, and armed guards posted there. The response I got was "But that would be so expensive!"
