For those that don't click, the man called the police reporting fighting & shots fired outside. Police arrive, find damage outside and hear fighting in the home. They kick in the door and start to clear the house. From the article:

Screenshot from the body cam shows what the officer saw on arrival.

Assuming NV has such a law, she should also be charged with murder. Even though it was the LEO who fired the shots, there are laws that allow this when a death is the result of a felony.

Yep, even if you're just a robbery getaway driver and one of your cohorts murders someone while you're waiting in the vehicle, you will be charged with that murder also.

The suspect and homeowner knew each other and the suspect was returning from the airport where her ticket was declined for being purchased by the homeowner with a stolen credit card.
Doesn't sound like the homeowner was all that innocent either!

No, it doesn't and while he certainly didn't deserve to die the fact he allowed this person into his life (and no doubt knowing he was taking chances) he put himself into a very bad position.

I am sure many of us have known of people who have allowed people into their lives (for whatever reasons) and have seen them experience nothing but pain, trouble and despair out of it.

Although not the same thing as this I take precaution where I live. Large fenced property. When I am out after dark I wear what I call a "Don't Shoot Me" vest. Reason being we have had times LEO's are chasing someone who hops our fence and runs with LEO's in chase. If I am out and don't know its happening and run into some scum I would of course draw on them. The vest will hopefully not have the LEO's firing at me. I got VERY angry at both the local PD and Wife one time while back. While I am at work some scum is running, hops fence. LEO dispatch called my Wife. Guessing they got her # from alarm people. They tell her they want to bring a dog in and ask her to come open the gates. This is a couple hundred yards down the road from the house. She does go and let them in. When she told me the next morning I could not believe what I was hearing. Told her so they tell you some scum is out there and you leave the damn house? I put a Knox box down there and told her if it happens again give them the code and tell them get a key. Women just do NOT think the same way men do. 🤬

Ugh. The whole sordid mess is here.

The suspect and homeowner knew each other and the suspect was returning from the airport where her ticket was declined for being purchased by the homeowner with a stolen credit card. The suspect was transgender and suicidal and got into the house by breaking a window with a propane tank where she retrieved knives from the kitchen.

So basically, the suspect wanted the police to kill her but the police ended up killing the homeowner instead.
Minor point - I don't see anything in the article that indicated the homeowner purchased the ticket or provided the stolen credit card. From the link:

"At the airport, Boudreaux learned her ticket was canceled because it was purchased with a stolen card."
