I guess Speer used to make bullets out of .22LR brass. Internet says it's an explosive projectile suited mostly for rodents and paper.

Does anybody know what is needed to shape the .22LR brass?

Has anyone done this before?

Has anyone heard of this before?

Ever hear of RCBS in the reloading world? Rock Chuck Bullet Swage: that's how they started. From when you couldn't buy reloading bullets, you swaged your own jacketed .22 cf bullets for varmints.

man, I just made a very long post, and the board ate it.. and now it's late :(

Anyways, there are more than a few companys that make rimfire jacket forming dies, RCE (corbin's brother), CH4D, Hollywood, and numerous other manufacturers. If you are really interested in the subject, I suggest going over to the castboolits forum and digging through the swaging section, the guys there are super into this kind of thing, and there are more than a few open-source die designs for you to copy. Even i made them for a while. I will try to rehash some of what the board ate later.
