I was not aware that it is against the law to carry ammo in a vehicle within the USA. When did that start? I'm going to go with: Innocent until proven guilty.

If they are illegals, then they should be charged with THAT.

How much does 10,000 rounds of .50 BMG ammo weigh? Can an SUV handle that much weight?

You learn something new every day now don't you.
I believe that them not being citizens of the United States has something to do with something.
Also, if it's a rental or bankrolled with cartel money, conventional SUV weight limits are often overlooked.
😆

I believe there are 7 or 8 .50 rounds per lb so you're looking at 1200-1400lbs or about two average Americans

On the weight of 10K rounds of .50 BMG we have 2 comments so far: ~4,000 pounds, and 1,200 to 1,400.

Anyone have any concrete info? Or can either of these numbers be verified? I'd think 4,000 pounds would squash the springs pretty good.

Need to keep our eyes open for when that goes on auction. or maybe American reloading will get it and de-mil it so we have the components to reassemble it for cheap

My estimate was based on a 660 grain bullet plus 250 grains of powder to make 910 grains, don't know what the brass weighs of hand so I rough guessed at 1k grains/round at 7k grains per lb... I can get an exact weight tonight
