Maglite For HD Light

Just wondering why nobody uses a big D cell Maglite for HD anymore. Seems everybody wants to spend $200 on a Surefire. I just got a 6 D cell LED Maglite, it is brighter than my friends 200 lumen Surefire, and has a wider beam, and it was $45. On top of that, batteries are cheaper and last longer and are easier to find. Oh, and you can beat the piss out of somebody with it!!!

They are big, heavy, dim, use lots of batteries, never on you when you need them.

You say you compared it against your friends but the list above is my experience.

I always have my Surefire in my pocket. Not something I can say about the other. What do you do a 6 cell light when you need your second hand?
