Magazine Pinch

Does anyone else have trouble with being pinched now and then by the magazine on their compacts or sub compacts? Especially with extensions?

I can avoid it, but I have to make a conscious effort to keep my last two fingers and palm out of the way. It's not a huge issue, but it's a little annoying. How do you avoid that?

I have a S&W M&P 40c and 45c and they both at times pinch the **** out of me. There is a small gap between the magazine finger extension and frame when magazine is seated. Not every time, but if my fingers are in the wrong place, pinch city!

I slap the new mag in with the bottom of the expended one. In a reactive situation it's not gonna happen, but for target shooting it works.

Buy a pistol that fills your hand. Done.

But what if a pistol that fills my hand is too large or clumsy to conceal?

Use a glock 19 or 17 mag for your reload

it's no harder to hide a longer mag, you'll have more bullets, and it shouldn't pinch at least on the mag base.

most self defence situations you won't need more than one or two rounds but carrying and practicing reloads is a good idea

Train like you would fight. Doing otherwise will create bad habits that will come back to haunt you under stress.
