I just didn't want to pay $100+ for a similar item... I have a couple of the USMC FILBE Assault Pouches that's normally put on rucksacks and backpacks, quite a bit of Coyote brown webbing and a huge cone of CB thread... decided to whip up a simple flat harness somewhat styled after the USMC Chest Harness but sized both for the pouch and my prodigious girth 
The beauty is that I could in theory use this on other pouches of similar size and shape as opposed to converting and sewing the harness onto the pouch.
