I was at Macys in Medford on Sunday waited for my wife to shop, I was in the basement so my service provider 4G LTE got weaked signal so I decided to use their wifi to log into NWFirearms. Surprise Macys internet blocked all firearms related website. GUESS what? I am a big spender there at Macys. They just lost my business and my whole family business. I told my wife to leave the store and I told one of my client working at cosmetic section that they just lost a loyalty client :) I just when to my email removed their ads and coupons explained about their policy and tomorrow I will call Macys credit cards company to closed the account. I will take my family shop somewhere else that are guns friendly!!!

Well we have to take a stand and that is a good start.
Don't shop there at all, but every method used to block
firearms sites should be opposed in some way, for what ever good it will do.

Just out of curiosity, did you find other sites that you could surf? Many businesses and government agencies block network access to all sports related sites, porn sites, social media, and other types of sites - usually to keep employees from surfing non work related sites while at work.

You may well be correct that they blocked gun sites based on political views, or it could be related to work productivity.

You have a Macys credit card? I think this ordeal is a good thing! Boycott the bastards and get rid of that (and all) stupid credit cards!
My wife and I used the credit cards to get the extra 15% off right when check out. We imediately turn around paid off our credit cards in cash :) we are expert at shopping with Macys :) we shop there all the time but no longer!

On the WiFi, what Macy's did was probably use a third-party service to block access to anything involving guns, porn, and more that might be offensive to a subset of their customers.

I'm not agreeing with their anti-gun stance, but recognize that they were probably blocking a lot more than just gun-related websites.

As an ex IT manager I agree!
