anyone familiar with maadi ak's? Have an opportunity to pick one up, but I don't know anything about AKs.

what would you say the value typically runs? the one I am looking at looks like the attached picture. synthetic stock.

Depends on if its a pre ban, or an misr 10 or misr 90. Steyr imported preban guns can go for around $2,000, misr 10/90's are $450-550. I would avoid the misr 90, it's a hodgepodge of Egyptian and Chinese parts, bad reputation.

Since you asked...guys who bubba a nice AK...(edited)

I'd offer $100 because its going to cost a lot to pull all that tactical crapolla off, find the original parts and put it back to proper condition.

That's a $300 rifle since you have to buy all the correct parts and dump the cheap chicom junk they put on it.

FYI, Maadi AKs were the ones used in the original Red Dawn.

Ya went ahead and passed on it. Was a MISR 90 imported by CAI.

Guy wanted $700. Says he ended up selling it for that. Feel bad for whoever bought it!

I like mine. It came with all wood furniture, and a 10 round magazine. I put on all the necessary 922 parts.
But I miss the look of the wood grip.
    Still a great running/looking gun.

Nice rifle. Love the wood furniture, so much better than the synthetic.

Yea. I have a Mak-90 with black plastic furniture. My dog and I haven't made up our minds on the looks?
