Selling my 1944r Izhevsk M44 Mosin Nagant. It is all matching, no force matching except on the buttplate. First year of production for this iconic mosin. Baltic birch non-laminate stock. It is in good shape; the stock has handling and compression marks, dings, scrapes, and a few areas of tearing from aggressive disassembly (Ivan was probably pretty cold and didn't care). The bluing is in very good condition with deep bluing and areas of thinning blue, some nicks, scrapes, and a few areas of minor surface corrosion/surface spotting that I almost didn't notice. The barrel is counterbored and the bore is fair to good with darker grooves but bright lands. There was a superficial shrinkage crack in the wood between the mag and trigger internally, which is common and a non-issue. It was stabilized and will likely never move as the wood has reached equilibrium over the decades. Overall this is a very nice M44, a model that is getting harder to find especially in matching condition. Includes an original sling.

  1. I agree to the classified rules and terms of service
Just to let you in the know, Arsenals and Dates M44 production began at Izhevsk in 1943 one year before official adoption into the action and continued through 1948. The first year 1943, production is uncommon at an estimated 50,000 total and typically bring a premium. You have a very nice rifle. GLWS.

Dangit! This is why I shouldn't trust what I read on the internet. I should've dug deeper, admittedly my knowledge of mosins is pretty limited. Though I'm aware of how fun this m44 is to shoot!
