Hello all going to be taking my M38 in for consignment or possibly trade to my local shop and wanted to give you guys first run at it. Here's what I know it's a 1943 Izhevsk in great condition missing the rear sight previous owner removed for scope mount. I've had it for a few years and never done anything with it so now it gets to find a new home. I saw a fair number of these in worse condition going for $350+ on gunbroker and a couple other places so I'm going to start at $400 for this one. Open to trade offers but mostly looking for cash a new gun has caught my eye. Price is OBO but please don't low ball. This has the best trigger I've ever felt in a Mosin it's nice and smooth and not ridiculously heavy like most other Mosins. This rifle has makings and cartouches everywhere I have took pictures of some of them. Let me know.

Nice gun, too bad it's missing the rear sight and a forced match number refurb tho..
I love Mosin m38 carbines for sure. I'll think on it for sure tho

floor plate is almost always a renumber everything else is original. Rear sites can be found fairly easily as well.

Guys, I paid 59.99 at Big5 for a couple of M44s (Romanian and an arsenal refinished Russian), but that is ancient history now. These things have shot straight up. And, Timney now makes a 1.5 lb trigger for just over a C note. Hmmm...

Very nice, well preserved Mosin. I find that I am lacking an SVT40 and a Finnish M39 w/pistol grip stock. Ah, dreams...

I've looked the rifle over extensively I see no evidence of a restamp on the bolt. Care to clarify what marking you're referencing?

CCA6F64D-343B-44DB-A3A2-4FBD0D9E967C.jpeg You can see it has been scrubbed of original marking by the light grind marks on bolt face where numbers are.. if original, it would be smooth like rest of bolt and not have the sriping on it... I bet it has a small indent/step down from smoot part of bolt forward..
