So if I were to buy both auctions,then maybe keep them stored in the same container.....I would in essence have an unregistered machine gun in my possession, even though I don't own an M1 carbine?

MG parts are legal to sell because there are legal MG's that often need replacement parts. You can buy full auto replacement parts for an M16, but if you own the parts, and an AR15 you are potentially breaking the letter of the law. Even though you would have to modify the AR15 receiver into a C3 status to use them. Never the less, anyone can buy the full auto parts for an M16. Buying or selling the parts in itself is not illegal.

That's what I have generally thought of as the legality of the subject of parts kits......that method of use construed violation, not possession. Kind of like books....possessing and reading the books isn't illegal, but applying the knowledge gained in an unapproved manner can get you into trouble.

Not really worth it to me to try ordering the parts in question and see if i get a visit or not.
