So, I've decided to lay down a chunk of cash for a Springfield. It's not really rational, I know. But I've got a fever, and the only cure is more guns.

I digress...Should I buy the standard and upgrade with aftermarket parts? Should I buy the 'loaded'? Or should I buy the NM? I'm going with Springfield becuase my experience with their customer service, so that eliminates custom gunshops like Fulton, et al.

Buy one and master at it, I have m1a scout and I have been dumping tons of money on it, sage ebr stock, scope, scope rings and ammosssss lots of ammo. You can find good deal here on this website.

What do you want to do with it?
I have a loaded model that suits me great. For the extra $100 I would go with the loaded model, the sights and the barrel are a little bit nicer.

I have been able to shoot 1.5" 5 shot groups with mine, with irons and the same with a scope. I am still working up a load for it.

It's completely and totally something I don't need, I've just got the dough and have always thought they looked really cool. I supposed if I had to justify it somehow, I'd say at some point I'll shoot NRA matches.

I love the 18" barrel on the riffle, it easy to move around inside my camry. The 16" is good too but shooting 308 with the 16" barrel doesn't feel right for me. If you ever come to GP I will let you shoot mine scout. I also have buddies that own socom and load that you can try them out before buying too. Socom m1a look pretty cool with vtor stock. Look at all the option before you buy one so you won't reget getting it.
