"Never mind, l read the article after my post" I believe we supplied those to at least one of the Baltic countries when they got their freedom, they have been sending what they can to Ukraine.
 
the M14 had it's problems as a main battle rifle
but as an artisan sporting rifle made by any of several US venders, it's a fine sporting rifle
there are many better combat rifles today, but it make a good target rifle with a very fine set of sights
 
Could they be the Polytech versions?

Edit: Nevermind I should have read article before posting.
most of the Polytech didn't have manufacturing stamps on them
they were originally made for a conflict in the Philippines for which the Chinese were supplying weapons to the communist rebels

I saw one back in the early '90s in Oregon
it had import marks only, no manufacturing stamp on the back of the receiver
