    Any Luger experts out there?

A friend has a 1940 Luger that has some markings on the backstrap. The backstrap is stamped:

    GBW
    364

Anyone have any idea as to what this means?

This pistol was picked up in W. Germany around 1960-1962.

    Thanks for any info.

I have heard that Dan at Mary's Pistols in Tacoma knows a bit about Lugers. Might be worth a call?

Is the GBW within a cartouche?

Go to the Luger Forum; then "Message Board", find the correct section and ask there. More Luger experts than anywhere except possibly some German forum, but many Germans there too.
