According to this TFB article It look like there are some better grip options and texture, I think the thumb rests are different and supposedly a better trigger. The Warden says I don't need one, but if I did I would bet on the FDE 40. The M&P line was designed around the 40 S&W round as opposed to trying to adapt a 9 MM gun to 40 S&W like Glock. Thank goodness Glock saw the light when they went to 10MM and 45. I only have a Walther DAO PPX (Hammer fired) for 40....and my Pitbull revolver. I like what I see in the new M&P. (Say that last out loud, sounds like a slogan!)

when I was a kid, it went something like this...

    He's a poet and didn't know it,
but his feet show it: they're Longfellows.

I don't like that they got rid of the beavertail. Apex parts will fix the trigger.

The grip texture looks sweet. The mags interchange and the steel sub assembly goes the full length of the dust cover.

If I was just getting into the M&P line, then I'd be all over it. With already owning an M&P CORE, not so much...

I own 10 M&P pistols, I'll buy a 5" CORE M2.0 as soon as I can find one just to see how it is.

Feel a need to compare your gun to a Glock?

Strange how most polymer guns are. :D

That FDE should come in 9mm as well. The 40 is on its way out.

    Really?

This may be a well known fact.
Only problem is it isn't true. ;)

Armies, agencies, Police and civilians. Have always vacillated between solid performing calibers.
    And they always will.

.40's popularity will ebb and flow. But it's not going away buy any means.

Well considering that LE agencies are moving away from 40 caliber slowly, due to the fact it is more difficult to teach marksmanship skills to "new" shooters with a 40, opposed to the 9mm. I would say that the 40 will go the way of the 10mm. Still popular with the people that like the 40, but not mainstream shooters and new folks.

Well I only have one 40 pistol and one 40 revolver, but I am considering the M&P M2.0 in 40 and a XDS in 40

I was in NW Armory in Tigard Friday and saw and fondled a M2.0 in 40 and FDE $469, but the Warden said the 'N' word...nice trigger though.
