So , you are saying .... 540 boxes are at the most worth .40 cents a box ? Or $200.00 for all .
I am not in the collectible ammo box game.

Simply saying that it's a larger amount of boxes than most dudes would probably want. Also, at a glance, the older boxes look to be in fair/good condition. Most of them may ,indeed, be great/excellent. But they're new production stuff that has no real collector appeal.
To clarify my statement, ( which is the guess of a random guy on the web) I'd be happy to get $200 for all of that on a cash sale.

OK ... just to clarify .... I am not saying they are collector boxes .... just GREAT boxes for displays in you hunting room .

I've been aware that there are people who collect empty gun stuff and ammo boxes. Empty powder cans are one of the more popular collectibles of this sort. I've never yet met someone who collects shot shell boxes but I'm sure they are out there. Probably not as common as powder can collectors. I've met people who collect, sort of, full boxes of vintage shot shells. Two things come to my mind. 1. This is a large quantity, and 2. There aren't that many collectible pieces judging by the pictures. For these two reasons, I don't think you can assign a value per box that is several dollars. If you can find an interested party on whatever basis, I suspect a very large quantity discount would be required to sell them.

You can look on ebay to see sales histories of shot shell boxes. Prices are all over the place, including actual sales realized. But mostly they are vintage or rare of some sort to command any kind of price worth pursuing. It's anyone's guess how long some of these individual listings languish before the right person comes along. Or you might try a mass listing, try to sell them all in one chunk online. With the understanding that they'd be folded and not shipped square, which would be highly impractical. That would be a solid source of price discovery. Start at a price you are comfortable with, and if that doesn't work, chop it until they sell.

If you visit ebay, be sure to scroll down along the left edge to "show only" things, then click on "sold items" to find sales that have actually closed. Listing pricings don't mean a thing, only actual closed sales. Green numbers with lines through them mean the actual price was a lower offer accepted; I don't know why ebay won't reveal these prices.

I don't collect ammo or boxes but probably like anything else a few old and rare ones have value to someone looking for those specific ones. Everything else has no real value at all. Fe baseball cards. You can have 10 boxes and they are worth nothing. But a few certain ones may be worth a lot to a collector. 2 cents.

I'll add that duplicates don't really add value IMHO. I'm not a collector but do have a few random old ammo boxes stapled to the 2X4 edge of my shelves but each is different for their uniqueness.

Anybody got dibs on the les Schwab ad?
I got these when I was manager in Reedsport years ago . They are not going anywhere other then on my wall . GREAT MEMORIES ....

I load my magazines at home and keep the ammunition lot numbers until I shoot all of rounds. I use a plastic bag and collapse all of my ammo boxes and store them in the bag. The bag gets dumped on my next trip to the gun range.

Contact Wards Collectibles in Dallas and see what they can do to help you. They just finished another auction with a lot of shot shell boxes in it. Yours may be newer than they deal with but it doesn't hurt to ask.
