I WAS AN IDIOT AND NOW YRYING TO FIX IT

In my 20's, I took and pawned a Remington Rand 45 1911 In Grants Pass, Oregon. I am looking for it. I have since lost the paperwork and serial number, but there is a number engraved under one of the pistol grips. Message me that number for verification and tell me how much you want for it.

Good luck with your quest! Ive been on a similar mission to find some of my Grandfathers priceless guns that my Grandmother sold (without consulting any family first) to an estate auction because she thought we could use the money instead

But your post is rather spartan of critical identifying info, and considering RemRand produced nearly 1 million 1911s during the war it might prove to be quite difficult to find your exact piece.

I pawned three tec9s with a ton of 30&50rd mags and am in the same boat, but I never want them back.
I was young and dumb, nobody paid any thing for them back then, and I got a Sites Spector with the funds, which I later sold to NW Armory

I did something like that when I was younger and was able to recover the gun years later. I did purchase a Remington Rand 45 ACP 1911 at a gun shop around 15 years ago in GP. It was in great shape, but ended up selling it to Don Ball in Central Point, a well known USGI 1911 collector in the area. I was down there visiting family and it looks like his business is still in operation. You might want to give him a call:

If Don is still around, but sold the business, you might try getting a hold of Fred (if he's still around) at Good Guys Guns. He the one that connected me to Don years ago:

May not even be your gun, but it's worth a call or two.

Actually it was closer to closer to 21 - 22 years ago. My youngest was about 7 and she's getting ready to turn 29 : )

Might also check with Ed Boening down there. He's a gunsmith who is big on 1911s. One might have come through his hands for repair:
