Blacktails arew prolific everywhere, especially around the farmlands. Creep along slowly and watch everything. I have literally stepped over a doe that was actually crawling on its knees behind a log to get away from me.
Around the farms they are used to people and sometimes hard to push out. Dawn and Dusk they come to the orchards and fields. In the timberland they are also hard to push out, but can be a bit more skiddish. '
Most shots that I have taken on Blacktail have been under 50 yds and many in the 10 to 30 yd range.
If there are a lot of hunters moving them, they are harder to get, but on the fringes of the farmlands they are pretty complacent and you can literally walk over them at times.
