I have discovered that I am not strong enough to grip and fire any of my currently owned revolvers. As I was intending to take classes for safety and usage, I need to sell them. Wondering how best to determine fair value. ???

Look on GB and check what similar models have SOLD for. List them here and ask these guys, also depends on where you're going to sell them and if you're in a hurry or not. See if your LGS has any of you types for sale. May need to ship if after the best price. PAX

RE: Checking Gun Broker. You must register on GunBroker to access "Completed Items". At the top of the MAIN page, just to the right end of the Search Box, click "Advanced". Under "Advanced Search" click "Completed Items". There you will have a box to enter your pistols description and clicking "Enter' will show you completed sales and what they sold for.

No worries with GunBroker blasting you with spam. I've had no issues with them having my email since I first registered some years ago.

Thank Me. thank me very much!

Guns International is one of my goto's when checking prices.
If you have any S&W revolvers, shoot me a PM ,I might be interested.
Best,

One fair warning, what people ask and what they get are very different. Assuming like a previous comment shows, if you can see sold ones on gunbroker that's a great help. I've seen some s&ws sell pretty low and it seems common online despite all the s&w fourm members thinking they should sell for 300+ more. Colt has taken a bit less of a hit but still not where they were 2 years ago. I started getting into revolvers more recently when I saw how many models I liked went from 1k to 650 being able to find used. There are exceptions and stuff that has gone up but without knowing more best advice check sold prices or keep an eye on gunbroker a few weeks searching some of the auction prices and lower buy it now ones.

Side note, some are hard to determine value such as police marked ones. Usually it goes up but can devalue if bad marking or super unknown department. I mainly buy pd marked ones so I might be of some help if you have a issue with value on a police issued one. Super scarce ones have the same issue. Not enough out there to know a good value.

Something to consider when selling a firearm....
Are you looking to get that elusive "book value" ...or just wanting to sell to get something you can use or want...?

Speaking only for myself here...
I prefer to sell at a realistic price...and actually get a sale...or trade outright for what I want...
Even at a loss...just so as to have something that I want or can use...rather than have something I no longer have a use for.

I cant figure out how to send photos: I have a S&W 38, Taurus 38 and Charter Arms 38. Maybe my new account won't allow me to post photos? All are in excellent shape as they have been only fired a few times over the years. The Charter Arms was purchased in 1981 and the others were my late husbands but I believe they were purchased around that same time.
