hows it going everyone. I am looking for a place other then the rock pit at larch to shoot a few rounds. I'm looking for someplace that isn't to rough on my fwd suv mommy mobile. :)
I always clean up and save all my brass so no worries there. I will also keep it a closely guarded secret if you want. Feel free to post here or p.m thanks

In Vancouver we got the shaft on shooting spots.

    Ddrc is a good range.
Clark county Rifles is open to the public on Sundays.

Other then that, keep driving around Larch or go up to the National Forest above sunset falls.

It's all an hour away so pick your poison. If your shooting on days other then Sunday, I would highly recommend DDRC - 1000yard targets all the way down to pistols and I believe their shotgun area should be done soon.

You can also head up to Ariel and go to Wolverton on the second sunday of each month. They are private but open to the public on that day.

Only thing with Douglas is that the 1K is only open one day a week I think. If you do not work I guess that is ok. The place looks real nice but one hell of a drive from Vancouver.

Clarks is your best bet if looking for something close.

I will be moving to Vancouver next year so I am interested in what is the best indoor and outdoor range to go to for pistol shooting. Any of them allow rapid fire, drawing from holsters, baracade shooting, etc.?

I head up near cold creek campground in yacolt area, you have to drive 5 miles past the correctional facility and head up side roads, takes about 25 minutes from mill plain and 164th. Great area too.

Yes he is talking of Douglas ridge.

As for English pit I would rather rub salt in my eye.....that place is just not worth it to me.

What wrong with English Pit? I've been a couple of times and never seem to mind it. It's not as cheap as in the middle of no-where, but it's also close, so I don't have to drive an hour just to shoot. It's also open to the public.

Costs to much and way to many people show up there.

I m just down the street from them and it is always packed with people. Would rather take my chance in the woods and shoot by myself.....

EP is good for me early in the week at opening time; I usually have 2 hours to myself

But the cost is just to much each time.

I remember when it was free.....

and I remember when gas was 25 cents a gallon, a loaf of bread was 10 cents and a candy bar was a nickel. Since I only get up there once a month it works for me.
