I have always liked the Fitzgerald Colts . There is no way I can afford one ...... Starting at 5000 . I know a lot of people are going to bust a vain about being unsafe. first of all I don't plan on carrying it second of all many famous gunfighters from the 30s and 40s carried them including Rex Applegate.

I have a Colt army special that locks up tight but it's pretty rough on the outside.
I would like to find a Smith that would convert it to a Fitz special.

Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Check with "Bubba". I hear that he has a couple of files and a grinder. And, I heard that he does excellent work. LOL. Not to mention that he does work for cheap. A six-pack of his favorite beer should do.
