As the title says i am looking for a smith to install some night sights on my springfield XD sub-compact. I am having a hell of a time finding anyone with experience with XD. From my understanding they can be quite difficult to remove and install. Any help or point in the right direction is appreciated.

You are very correct, I swear they have a 800lb gorilla install them. I've had to mill a small slot in the old sights to relieve the tension, then they come right out.

I would send u a pm but it seems to be broken

I took mine to the local gun store and he broke his sight removal tool on it. Finally got it out after he bought another tool. I put the new sights in by removing a small amount of material on the new sights with a stone.
Springfield is really serious about an interference fit.

I know you said you wanted someone locally, but if you can't find anyone, you could try this. I sent a XDm slide to this guy to have trijicon HD sights put on a pistol. He charged $25 and that included return priority shipping. It was a 24 hour turnaround, so with shipping times both ways, it took less than a week.
